We are dedicated to empowering girls to become strong, smart and bold, and we accomplish this by helping girls become productive, intelligent, and confident young women, and strive to give the girls a safe, fun and stimulating environment after school and during the summer. Girls Inc is fully focused on solving the challenges faced specifically by girls, and equipping young women with the skills they will need to thrive and succeed in the world.

Girls have a right to be themselves-people first and females second-and to resist pressure to the age and sex-stereotyped ways.
Girls have a right to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm.
Girls have the right to take risks, to strive freely and to take pride in success.
Girls have a right to accept and enjoy the bodies they were born with and not to feel pressured to compromise their health in order to satisfy the dictates of an "ideal" physical image.
Girls have a right to be free of vulnerability and self doubt and to develop as mentally and emotionally sound individuals.
Girls have a right to prepare for interesting work and economic independence.
Why have a club just for girls?
Here are some serious considerations:
- Fully 39 percent of women workers earn less than $10,000 a year, compared with 24 percent of male workers.
- The average woman earns just 74 cents for every dollar earned by the average man.
- Many teachers, parents and other adults have lower expectations for girls' performance in math and science than for boys.
- In the National Adolescent Student Health Survey, 42 percent of girls as compared to 25 percent of boys reported that they have "seriously thought" about committing suicide.
- Another teenager becomes a mother every minute.
